President Tinubu Appoints 42 Board Chairpersons for Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made key appointments to 42 federal organizations, assigning board chairpersons and a secretary to the board of the Civil Defence, Immigration, and Prisons Services.

The President has also appointed a new managing director for the Nigerian Railway Corporation and a director-general for the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI).

The appointments, announced by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect. President Tinubu emphasized that the board chairpersons’ positions are non-executive, directing them not to interfere with the management of the organizations.

– National Youth Service Corps: Hon. Hillard Eta (Cross River)

– Nigerian Institute of International Affairs: Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi (Lagos)

– Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria: H. E. Abdullahi U. Ganduje (Kano)

– Nigerian Railway Corporation: Dr. Kayode Isiak Opeifa (Lagos) as Managing Director

Other appointments cover various federal agencies, including the National Sugar Development Council, Nigerian Bulk Electricity Trading Company, and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

The appointments are expected to bring new leadership and expertise to these organizations, driving growth and development in various sectors. As the board chairpersons assume their roles, they will be responsible for providing strategic guidance while allowing the management to handle day-to-day operations.
