Kano State Police Command has arrested three suspected armed robbers, recovering sharp knives and a mobile phone from them.
The suspects, Aminu Muhammad, 28, Abubakar Aminu, 24, and Mujahid Muhammad, 23, were apprehended on January 15, 2025, at 7:30 am.
The arrest was made possible by a tip-off from a good Samaritan, who reported that the suspects were riding a motorcycle, blocking Magwan Road, and attacking innocent people to rob them of their mobile phones. CSP Aliyu Muhammad Auwal led the team of Police detectives that made the arrest.
The suspects are currently undergoing investigation at the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID). They will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation. This move is part of the Command’s efforts to combat all forms of criminalities and maintain law and order in Kano State.
Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Salman Dogo Garba, has warned that such criminal activities will not be tolerated. He assured that the Command will spare no effort in arresting and prosecuting anyone who tries to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the State.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, issued a press release on January 23, 2025, announcing the arrest and warning against criminal activities. The Command’s dedication to maintaining law and order is a welcome development for residents of Kano State.
