The Nigeria Police Force says it has recovered two stolen vehicles and one tricycle in Kano State as part of its ongoing fight against car theft and related crimes.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, said the success was achieved through intelligence-led operations and support from the public. He noted that the recovered items, worth millions of naira, have been returned to their owners, who praised the police for their quick response.
In one case, police operatives recovered a stolen Pontiac Vibe in Darmanawa area of Kano shortly after it was taken from the owner’s residence. In another case, a Toyota Corolla stolen in Abuja was traced and recovered in Kano following credible intelligence. Police said investigations are ongoing to arrest the suspects involved.
The command also recovered a stolen tricycle taken from a rider in Kaduna State after he was attacked. Three suspects were arrested in connection with the crime, and the tricycle was returned to its owner. The police said efforts are continuing to arrest other members of the group.
The police commissioner commended officers and members of the public for their support, adding that the command will not relent in fighting crime. He also advised residents to use tracking devices, avoid unsafe parking areas, and report suspicious activities to security agencies.
