The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has said it remains focused on its goal of contesting and winning the 2027 general elections, despite what it described as recent distractions and misleading claims.
In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party dismissed reports that it may not present candidates in the 2027 elections. It described such claims as false, baseless, and aimed at creating confusion among Nigerians.
The party stressed that it is fully prepared and will field credible and competent candidates for all positions in the elections. It added that there is no legal barrier stopping it from participating, as it remains compliant with the Constitution and the Electoral Act.
ADC also stated that it continues to position itself as a major opposition platform in the country. It said its focus is on organising, mobilising supporters, and building strong structures across Nigeria to win the elections.
The party called on its members and the public to ignore the rumours and remain focused on its mission. It said its aim is to provide an alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and address issues such as insecurity, rising cost of living, and limited opportunities.
