Dr. Bala Nuhu Kankia, popularly known as Sadaukin Kankia, has accepted the call by the people of Kankia Local Government Area to contest for the Katsina State House of Assembly seat.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that he made his intention known on Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Kankia, following repeated appeals from the community.
Speaking, the leader of the Sadaukin Kankia movement, Shamsu Isyaku Gachi, expressed happiness over Dr. Bala Nuhu’s decision, describing him as a person of integrity who is committed to community development. He added that Dr. Bala Nuhu has long supported the APC and contributed to both party activities and community service at local and state levels.
In his remarks, Dr. Bala Nuhu confirmed that he has accepted the people’s call to contest. He highlighted his contributions through the APC Zallah group and his role at the KATSACA agency, where he has supported people living with HIV and assisted women with maternal care. He also stated that he focuses on supporting women, youths, orphans, and vulnerable groups.
He further said that if elected, he will work to improve healthcare, education, and security, as well as create job opportunities for young people. He concluded by appreciating Governor Dikko Umar Radda and the APC, while a large crowd of supporters showed their support and wished him success in the race.
