Katsina Distributes Appointment and Admission Letters for New Schools

The Katsina State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has presented Letters of Appointment to newly recruited academic and non-academic staff, alongside Admission Letters to students selected to attend the newly established Model Secondary Schools in Radda, Dumurkul, and Jikamshi.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Consultant of Hallmark Consultancy, Hajiya Zainab Bugaje Jika, described the establishment of the schools as a clear reflection of Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda’s vision to create special schools tailored to meet the diverse learning needs of children.

She explained that the selection of students followed a transparent and competitive entrance examination process, while teachers were recruited through public advertisements, an online application system, Computer-Based Tests (CBT), and physical interviews. She expressed confidence that a competent, committed, and qualified workforce had been assembled to ensure the success of the schools.

The Principal of Radda Model Special School, Dr. Lawal Shehu, described the occasion as a historic milestone in Katsina State’s civil service and education sector.

He disclosed that over 250 staff members received appointment letters to serve in the new model schools, stressing that the appointments come with responsibilities of discipline, hard work, and dedication to effective teaching and learning. He commended the transparent, merit-based recruitment process and appreciated the support of the Governor, the Ministry of Education, Hallmark Consultancy, and AGILE Katsina.

The ceremony, held at the School Assembly Hall on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, marked a significant step in the state’s education reform agenda under the administration of Malam Dikko Umar Radda. Performing the official presentation, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Hon. Yusuf Sulaiman Jibia, congratulated the newly appointed staff and admitted students, describing the initiative as a strategic investment in the future of Katsina State. He urged staff to carry out their duties with professionalism, discipline, teamwork, and commitment, noting that their recruitment was strictly based on merit.

Hon. Jibia further revealed that students admitted into the Model Secondary Schools in Radda, Dumurkul, and Jikamshi were selected from public schools across all 360 political wards of Katsina State.

He said this inclusive approach reflects the state government’s commitment to equity, fairness, and equal access to education. He also disclosed that the 2026 budget has made provisions for the renovation of 74 senior and junior secondary schools, alongside other education interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and learning outcomes.

Other speakers at the event included the Chairman of the Teachers Service Board (TSB), Alhaji Sada Ibrahim (Chigarin Dutsinma), who charged the newly employed teachers to give their best in fulfilling the educational aspirations of the administration and assured them of continued welfare support.

On behalf of the host community, the Mayor of Radda and Bare-Bari of Katsina, Alhaji Kabir Umar, thanked the Governor for establishing the school in Radda and urged teachers to regard the community as their home. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries from government institutions and other stakeholders across the state.
