The Nigerian Correctional Service, Kano State Command, has announced that 68 inmates in the state successfully passed the 2025 NECO secondary school leaving examination.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that The Service noted that the inmates expressed joy over the achievement, describing it as a major opportunity to transform their lives completely.
According to the Service, the success was made possible through the support of the Kano State Government, which sponsored the inmates’ education. It added that the initiative aligns with the Nigerian Correctional Service Act of 2019, which emphasizes reformation and rehabilitation through education and vocational training.
The Kano State Government reaffirmed its commitment to providing educational opportunities for inmates to empower them to become responsible citizens. Officials further explained that this effort reflects President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which seeks to improve the lives of all Nigerians, including those in correctional facilities.
