A young lady named Fatima from Jiddari Polo area of Maiduguri has suffered severe burns after her stepmother allegedly poured boiling oil on her out of jealousy.
Reports indicate that Fatima was only four months away from her wedding before the tragic incident occurred, causing outrage in the community.
Sources confirmed to Hikaya Newspaper that Fatima is currently receiving treatment at the TH hospital, while the suspect is in police custody.
Community members and activists have called on authorities to ensure that the woman is prosecuted and made to face the full weight of the law, in order to secure justice for Fatima.
