The DMG Foundation, under the leadership of Alhaji Nura DMG, has carried out a special tree-planting program alongside the distribution of financial support to patients at Shema Hospital in Magama-Jibia, as part of its commitment to community service and development.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that a total of 90 trees were planted across different locations, including 25 at Uhud Jumu’at Mosque, 20 at Shema Hospital, 25 at the Nigeria Customs Service office, 15 at the Nigeria Immigration Service office, and 10 at the DSS office. In addition, about 30 patients benefited from cash assistance.
Speaking to journalists shortly after the exercise, the Foundation’s Chairman, Alhaji Nura, described the initiative as one of the organization’s key interventions to improve the well-being of the people. He appreciated the cooperation of local leaders and assured that, “Our mission is to work together to bring development and welfare to the people through programs that benefit everyone.”
The Incharge of Shema Hospital, Dahiru Magaji, commended both the financial support provided to patients and the trees planted within the hospital premises. According to him, “This gesture reflects genuine concern for public health, as the trees will provide shade, fresh air, and a conducive environment for both patients and staff.”
In his remarks, the Imam of Uhud Mosque expressed gratitude to the Foundation for the meaningful project, noting that, “Planting trees within the mosque compound adds cleanliness, comfort, and a healthy environment, which is itself an act of worship.” Similarly, the Customs Commander and Immigration Comptroller praised the initiative as a source of pride for security agencies, saying it would improve the environment of their offices and create a better working atmosphere for personnel.
The representative of the DSS, Ibrahim Safana, also lauded the project, describing it as a symbol of collaboration between communities and institutions. He said, “A healthy environment contributes significantly to security and the overall quality of life.”
