Katsina State Governor, Dikko Umaru Radda, has marked his second year in office with a special prayer session held at the Government House in Katsina. The event, attended by top government officials, Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, and other key stakeholders, was a moment of reflection and gratitude.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that Governor Radda emphasized that the occasion was not a celebration of power, but rather an opportunity to thank Allah and acknowledge that leadership is a trust, not a trophy.
The prayer session was led by respected scholar Sheikh Dayyabu Liman, who prayed for peace, unity, and progress across the state. In his speech, Governor Radda spoke from the heart, highlighting the challenges of the job but remaining focused on honest service. He emphasized that the money managed by the government belongs to the people and that officials are merely caretakers. The Governor also urged traditional rulers and religious leaders to help combat insecurity in local communities, warning that the problem is no longer confined to the forests but has spread to communities.
Governor Radda expressed gratitude to everyone who has supported his administration through prayers, advice, and constructive feedback. He acknowledged that there is still work to be done but expressed confidence that with Allah’s help and the support of the people, the administration will continue to move forward. Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari, noted that about 75% of the administration’s goals have already been achieved, attributing the progress to the government’s purposeful and disciplined approach.
Chief of Staff, Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, revealed that over 140 experts had contributed to shaping the Governor’s development plan. He stated that the next phase of the administration would focus more on empowering people, rather than just building projects. “We’ve built the foundation,” he said. “Now it’s time for continuation to empower people to stand on it.” The Chief of Staff thanked everyone who attended the special prayer, emphasizing the significance of their presence in demonstrating unity and shared purpose.
The prayer session was attended by several notable figures, including Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, House Leader Hon. Shamsudeen Dabai, and Members of the State Executive Council and State Assembly. Other attendees included the Head of Service, Hon. Falalu Bawale, and representatives of the Emirs of Daura and Katsina. The event underscored the Governor’s commitment to working with all stakeholders to achieve progress and development in the state.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir prayed for the attendees, saying, “May Almighty Allah reward you all, guide you back safely to your destinations, and continue to bless our state with peace and progress.” The special prayer session marked a significant milestone in Governor Radda’s administration, highlighting the importance of spiritual guidance and collective effort in achieving the administration’s goals.
