Hon. Musa Lawal, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Jibia and Kaita Local Government Areas of Katsina State, has accused Hon. Sada Soli of diverting some projects meant for the constituency to other local government areas.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that Musa Lawal made the allegation at the inauguration of his campaign office in Kaita on Sunday, September 20, 2026, where he also inaugurated the campaign offices of other ADC candidates ahead of the 2027 elections.
He said some of the projects that should have been implemented in Jibia and Kaita, which he described as areas with significant needs, had instead been taken to local government areas including Danmusa, Charanchi and Matazu.
Musa Lawal attributed this to political relationships with some influential stakeholders, alleging that the projects taken by Sada Soli to Charanchi, Matazu and Danmusa were located in local government areas he linked to prominent political figures in the state.
He also urged the people of Jibia and Kaita to consider Sada Soli’s record of representation before deciding whom to support in the 2027 election. He further expressed his views on some political promises which he said had previously been made to the people but were not fulfilled.
Musa Lawal also challenged the claim that Sada Soli is among the 10 outstanding members of the House of Representatives, saying he had not seen how such recognition had benefited young people and other residents of Jibia and Kaita. He alleged that it was embarrassing for a list of 60 people to be presented as beneficiaries of employment opportunities facilitated by Sada Soli, and said there was a need for further clarification on the nature of the opportunities provided.
As an example, Musa Lawal mentioned a member of the House of Representatives representing Faskari, Sabuwa and Danja Federal Constituency in Katsina State, whom he said had provided employment opportunities to 64 young people at once. He said similar programmes should receive greater attention to support young people.
Musa Lawal further argued that Sada Soli’s position as Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Water Resources had not translated into sufficient benefits for the people of Jibia and Kaita. He also questioned whether the Abdallawa Dam had been rehabilitated as previously promised.
Musa Lawal also dismissed what he described as Sada Soli’s claim that there were no opposition candidates, saying opposition parties and their candidates were participating in the 2027 electoral process. He called on the people of Jibia and Kaita to give him their support and cooperation in his bid for the House of Representatives seat, promising to focus on the development of the area.
Hon. Musa Lawal further stressed the need for representation focused on infrastructure, employment opportunities for young people and addressing the needs of the people of Jibia and Kaita. The allegations he made at the event form part of the ongoing political debate ahead of the 2027 elections.
