Troops of the Nigerian Army have rescued four kidnap victims during ongoing operations targeting a notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani, and his criminal gang in Katsina State.

The Katsina State Government announced the development in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Mu’azu. The rescued victims were identified as Musa Yakuba, 62; Alhaji Sa’adu Dayi, 68; Mukhtar Danja, 36; and Salisu Danja, 50. The government said medical personnel immediately attended to them after their rescue for gunshot wounds sustained while in captivity.

The Katsina State Government commended the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their bravery, professionalism, and commitment in the fight against banditry and kidnapping. It noted that their continued efforts are producing positive results across the state.

The Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs assured residents that security forces remain on the trail of Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and other criminal elements. It stressed that ongoing operations would continue until those responsible for acts of violence and terror are apprehended and brought to justice.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property, pledging to continue working closely with security agencies to ensure that criminals have no safe haven anywhere in Katsina State.
