SDP Holds National Convention

The opposition Social Democratic Party in Nigeria is currently holding its national convention to elect new party leaders and conduct its presidential primary election.

The development comes at a time when political activities in the country are gaining momentum ahead of future elections. Dr. Usman Bugaje is presiding over the convention, and his speech attracted public attention as he spoke about the major challenges facing the country.

Hundreds of party supporters gathered at Tafawa Balewa Stadium in Bauchi, where the convention is taking place.

There are strong indications that Prince Adewole Adebayo, the party’s former presidential candidate in the 2023 election, may emerge again as the party’s presidential candidate, while Professor Abubakar Sadik is expected to continue as the national chairman of the party.
