Tinubu congratulates Kano deputy governor

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo on his appointment as the new Deputy Governor of Kano State.

Garo was sworn in on Tuesday by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf after being nominated to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Aminu Abdulsalam. The former deputy governor stepped down following the governor’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The 48-year-old politician has held several public offices in the past. He served as Chairman of Kabo Local Government and later as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs under former governor Abdullahi Ganduje. He was also the APC deputy governorship candidate in the 2023 election.

President Tinubu praised Governor Yusuf for the appointment, saying it will help strengthen unity within the APC in Kano State. He called on party members and other stakeholders to support the governor and his deputy in their duties.

The President also advised Garo to work closely with the governor to provide good leadership and promote development in the state. He wished him success in his new role.
