Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umar Radda, has received a mobile ICT classroom, describing it as an important step toward reducing the digital gap, especially in rural communities.
The Governor commended Huawei for partnering with the state to improve ICT infrastructure in schools. He said the facility will help students gain better access to digital learning and internet services, particularly those in underserved areas, including girls.
The mobile classroom is built inside a container and is fully equipped with laptop computers, interactive digital boards, internet connection, and a power system that can provide up to eight hours of electricity. Governor Radda assured that the facility will be properly used to improve students’ digital skills and address challenges facing ICT education in the state.
He also revealed that Katsina is the second state in Nigeria to benefit from the project, linking it to earlier engagements with Huawei. Earlier, the Director-General of the Katsina State Directorate of ICT, Malam Naufal, said the facility will support students preparing for computer-based exams and improve digital learning outcomes across the state.
