Jibia residents urge Governor Radda to support Sadauki

Residents of five wards including Bugaje, Gangara, Kusa, Riko, and Yangayya in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State have called on Governor Dikko Umar Radda to give full support to Hon. Muhammadu Halliru, popularly known as Sadaukin Jibia and Sardaunan Kaita, to contest for the House of Representatives seat representing Kaita and Jibia.

The call was made during a gathering held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Dawana office located along Ibrahim Shehu Shema Bypass, near the Army Barracks Roundabout.

Participants expressed strong support for Hon. Muhammadu Halliru and also voiced dissatisfaction with the performance of the current lawmaker.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that speaking at the event, the organizer, Isah Hassan Dawana, described Hon. Muhammadu Halliru as the solution to the political challenges of Kaita and Jibia, citing his commitment to community service and development. He said Halliru has distinguished himself in supporting the less privileged, creating job opportunities, and improving the living conditions of the people.

Dawana added that denying Halliru the opportunity to contest could pose a serious challenge to the political future of the area. He stressed that the people need a representative who truly understands their needs and can bring meaningful change. He therefore urged Governor Radda to support Halliru to achieve this goal.

He also raised concerns about alleged marginalization in the distribution of political appointments in Jibia, noting that most office holders are from the western part of the area. He called for fairness by giving the eastern part a chance to secure representation at the state assembly level.

According to him, the gathering brought together people from the five eastern wards of Jibia, including elders and youths, to show their support. He added that the turnout reflected unity and a shared desire for positive change in the area.

In his welcome address, Anas Yahuza described the movement as a struggle for freedom and better representation. He encouraged the people to support Sadauki and engage in purposeful politics that will bring development to the community.

Alhaji Abubakar from Riko ward also highlighted Halliru’s contributions even before entering politics, especially in the Daddara area, where he supported communities in education, healthcare, and access to clean water.

In his remarks, Mudawaisu Sufyanu from Bugaje commended the efforts of Governor Radda’s administration and assured that the people would support any candidate presented by the APC. However, he expressed dissatisfaction with the current representative, saying he failed to fulfill his campaign promises.

Sirajo Sadisu from Kusa stated that the people are in need of real change and described Muhammadu Halliru as the most suitable candidate based on his record of humanitarian service. Similarly, Malam Hassan Falale from Gangara said the people know Halliru better through his community support efforts than the current lawmaker.

On his part, Malam Aminu Rabi’u from Yangayya said that if Halliru is elected, the eastern part of Jibia will experience significant development and quality representation. He expressed confidence in Halliru’s ability to deliver positive change.

Observers also described Hon. Muhammadu Halliru as a deserving candidate, noting that his contributions to community development and his support for Governor Radda’s administration and the APC demonstrate his capacity to represent the people effectively.
