The Chairman of SUBEB in Katsina State, Dr. Kabir Magaji Gafia, has condoled families of victims killed in a recent bandit attack in Jibia.
Kabir Magaji Gafia sent a delegation to visit affected communities including Mil-Takwas, Farun Bala, Kadobe, and Falale in Jibia Local Government Area. The team included Alhaji Sahalu Zubairu, former Education Secretary of Kaita LGA, Hon. Nasiru Rabi’u Tarkama, Secretary of Kaita LGA, and Alhaji Babangida Daddara, among others.
The visit followed a violent attack that occurred on March 17, 2026, in Falale and Kadobe villages, where 16 people lost their lives. The incident left many families in deep sorrow and affected the entire community.
Speaking on behalf of Gafia, Alhaji Sahalu Zubairu appealed to residents to remain calm and allow security agencies to carry out their investigation.
He assured them that the Katsina State Government, under Dikko Umar Radda, is committed to strengthening security and ensuring justice. He also expressed deep sympathy over the loss and said the government shares in the pain of the affected families.
He further stated that efforts are ongoing to introduce special support programmes for orphans and vulnerable children who lost their parents in the attack. He added that more attention will be given to improving security and community support to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Family members of the victims expressed appreciation to Gafia for sending his representatives to console them. They said the visit brought comfort and showed that leaders care about their situation.
The condolence visit, which took place on Friday, March 20, 2026, was welcomed by residents, who described it as a sign of concern and responsible leadership.
