The Chairman of Jibia Local Government Area in Katsina State, Hon. Sirajo Ado, has met with the newly elected leaders of the Jibia Local Government Students Association (JILSA) at the national level, two days after the conclusion of their election held on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the meeting was aimed at strengthening relations, congratulating the new executives, and discussing ways to improve students’ welfare and educational development in the local government area.
Speaking during the meeting, the Special Adviser to the Local Government Chairman on Students’ Affairs, Alhaji Aliyu Hisbah, commended Hon. Sirajo Ado for his consistent commitment to students’ welfare even before assuming office as chairman.
He disclosed that prior to his emergence as local government chairman, Sirajo Ado had supported over 550 students through the payment of school fees, provision of educational materials, and assistance in securing admission into higher institutions, describing the gesture as a demonstration of his passion for education and the future of young people.
The newly elected National President of JILSA from Jibia Local Government, Comrade Najib Abubakar, praised the chairman for the opportunity granted to the association and for his sustained care for students.
He stated that his administration would prioritize sensitizing students on the importance of education, good morals, and unity, while also strengthening collaboration between students and government to achieve sustainable development.
In his response, Hon. Sirajo Ado expressed delight over the successful election of the JILSA executives and reaffirmed the local government’s continued commitment to supporting education.
He also appreciated the Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, for the scholarship schemes provided annually to students, including opportunities to study abroad, noting that such initiatives contribute significantly to building a responsible and enlightened society.
The local government chairman further advised the student leaders to remain law-abiding and to consistently enlighten students on the importance of political participation, including party registration and obtaining voter cards, to enable them play active roles in democratic processes.
He wished the executives success in their tenure and urged them to serve as worthy ambassadors of peace, education, and national development.
