Residents of Abbatuwa community have been thrown into deep mourning following the tragic death of a young man, Abdulsalami Yusuf Kankara, and his wife, Malama Zainab, barely nine months after their wedding.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the couple was involved in a fatal motor accident on their way back from Kurfi Local Government to Katsina town.
Speaking to our correspondent, the deceased’s brother, Aminu Yusuf Kankara, explained that the trip to Kurfi was planned to condole with relatives of a woman who had lost some of her belongings in the area.
According to him, there were four people in the vehicle. On their return journey, a motorcycle carrying two passengers crossed their path, leading to a collision. The two riders died instantly, while Zainab died on the spot inside the vehicle. The other occupants sustained injuries, and Abdulsalami later died at the hospital.

His funeral was scheduled for 11:00 a.m. at the Abbatuwa residence of Alhaji Yusuf Kankara.
