AFMS Jos Marks 45 Years of Excellence in Military and Academic Training

 

 

Air Force Military School (AFMS) Jos, Plateau State, is set to graduate its next batch of Junior Airmen on 26 July 2025, as it celebrates 45 years of excellence in military-inspired training and academic development.

 

Hikaya Newspaper reports that it was Established in 1980, the school has grown into one of Nigeria’s premier Air Force institutions, producing disciplined and purpose-driven individuals. Over the decades, AFMS Jos has trained hundreds of professionals, including over 65 serving military generals across the Army, Navy, and Air Force, and many others excelling in civil and business sectors both locally and internationally.

 

The school’s rigorous program combines military drills, leadership routines, and structured academic instruction to instill core values such as punctuality, respect, and accountability. This foundation shapes Junior Airmen into focused individuals prepared for service and leadership roles. A unique benefit for AFMS graduates is their direct entry into the Nigerian Air Force as trained Airmen, having completed foundational military education that equips them for future responsibilities.

 

The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Bala Abubakar, has been credited with reinforcing the school’s mission through his leadership philosophy centered on purposeful training and operational excellence.
