Gov Radda’s Wife Donates ₦10 Million to Breast Cancer Patients

The wife of Katsina State Governor, Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda, has donated ₦10 million to support breast cancer patients receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.

Hikaya Newspaper reports that the donation is aimed at helping patients pay their medical bills at a time when the high cost of cancer treatment is making it difficult for some people to continue their care. The support was provided through her Pledging Aid Charity Foundation, which focuses on assisting vulnerable people, particularly those living with breast cancer.

Speaking during the presentation, Hajiya Fatima said the foundation would continue to support breast cancer patients by paying medical bills and helping them access proper healthcare services.

She explained that the aim was to reduce the financial burden on patients and their families and ensure that lack of money did not prevent people in need from receiving necessary medical care. She also pledged to sustain support for people living with different health conditions, especially women with breast cancer.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of the hospital’s Chief Medical Director, the Chairman of the hospital’s Medical Advisory Committee, Dr. Abdulfatah, thanked the governor’s wife for the support. He said such assistance would help ease the difficulties faced by patients who cannot afford their treatment costs.

Dr. Abdulfatah also called on wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to support patients, particularly those living with illnesses that require long-term and expensive treatment.

In his remarks, the foundation’s Chairman of the Health Committee, Dr. Gaddafi, disclosed that a similar donation made by Hajiya Fatima last year supported nearly 100 cancer patients. He said the foundation would continue to assist patients with diagnosis, medication and treatment costs.
