The Kaduna State Police Command has arraigned 17 additional suspects in court over the gruesome murder of a woman in Maraban Jos, as investigations into the case continue.

In a statement updating the public on the case, the Command said the suspects were arraigned before a competent court on June 25, 2026, following ongoing investigations into the incident.
The police also disclosed that, after completing preliminary investigations, another 33 suspects were formally charged with criminal conspiracy and unlawful assembly in connection with the crime.
According to the Command, 30 people who had earlier been arrested were found not to have taken part in the incident. They have therefore been released unconditionally after investigators established that they had no involvement in the crime.
The Command said efforts are still underway to identify and arrest every person who participated in or assisted in carrying out the attack. It assured the public that all those found responsible would face the full weight of the law.
The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna State Command, CP Muhammad Rabiu, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to ensuring justice for the victim and maintaining law and order across the state. He said the investigation would continue until everyone connected with the crime is brought to justice.
The police urged residents to remain calm, obey the law, and continue providing credible and useful information that could assist investigators in uncovering all those involved in the incident.
