Yandaki Entry Bridge in Kaita LG is Dilapidated

Part of the entry bridge leading into Yandaki town, Kaita Local Government Area of Katsina State, is currently in a dangerous condition, prompting serious concern among residents who are calling for immediate government action.

A concerned community member states to Hikaya Newspaper that the road leading into the town has not yet been asphalted due to the absence of proper side drainages that can poses multiple risks to the residents. He further revealed that about ₦38 million was previously allocated for erosion control in Yandaki, but so far, no contractor has come to execute the project.

Similarly, in the neighboring Dankama ward, residents lamented the alleged misappropriation of ₦78 million also meant for erosion control. According to credible sources, a complaint filed by Comrade Ibrahim Dankama has prompted an investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), which has begun summoning officials and contractors for clarification and intelligence gathering.

Stakeholders are appealing to the federal representative of the constituency to be informed about the situation. They urge that the issue should not be taken lightly until the Yandaki entry bridge and access road are fully repaired to safeguard lives and property in the area.
