Jibia Traders Association has called on Jibia Local Government Chairman, Hon. Sirajo Ado, to organise a debate between the association and Jibia Traders Union so the public can understand each group’s plans.
Hikaya Newspaper reports that the association’s chairman, Alhaji Hamza Sale Marini, made the call at the group’s launch on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at the Dikko Umar Radda Hall in the Jibia Local Government Secretariat, Katsina State.
Marini said both groups should be invited to explain their policies and plans, so residents can assess which one is better placed to support the area’s development.
He said Jibia Traders Association was established to help address challenges facing traders in Jibia and create new opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses in the border area between Nigeria and the Republic of Niger.
Marini said he wanted to see economic growth in Jibia. He added that the area needed conditions that would help traders expand their businesses, create jobs and contribute more to the local economy.
He also commented on Jibia Traders Union and expressed his view about the group’s past activities. However, the statement provided no details or evidence to support the allegation.
