Jibia NYCN Yet to Take Position on Traders Groups Dispute

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) in Jibia says it has yet to take a position between the Jibia Traders Union and Jibia Traders Association matter.

The council’s Jibia Local Government Coordinator, Comrade Umar Lawal Aleguy, made this known in a statement sent to Hikaya Newspaper on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Aleguy said the council was investigating the matter, gathering information and hearing from different sides to understand what happened, the cause of the dispute and those affected.

He said the council would not act on rumours, unverified information or one-sided accounts, adding that its aim was to establish the facts, promote fairness and support a lasting solution.

The coordinator urged residents, especially youths and other stakeholders, to remain patient, avoid spreading rumours and refrain from reaching conclusions before the investigation is completed.

He said the council would announce its position and any recommended steps after obtaining sufficient information. He also called on all parties to avoid words or actions that could deepen misunderstanding or divide the community.

Aleguy said the council was seeking truth, peace and a solution rather than conflict or a rushed decision. He prayed for wisdom, unity and lasting peace in Jibia.
