Senator Muhammad Danjuma Goje has rejected the use of the consensus method adopted by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Gombe State.
Reports say party stakeholders endorsed Mohammed Ahmadu Deba as the APC candidate for the Gombe Central senatorial seat during a meeting held on Sunday and led by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya.
However, in a statement issued by his legal aide, Saidu Mu’azu Kumo, Goje said he does not accept the process, describing it as flawed and not in line with due procedure.
The statement added that the consensus meeting did not include all cleared aspirants, as it mainly involved the governor and only a few contestants, which is why Goje rejected the outcome.
