The Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Katsina State held its State Executive Council (SEC) meeting on Sunday, July 6, 2025, to introduce new strategies and reforms aimed at strengthening the party’s presence in the state and preparing for the upcoming 2027 general elections. The meeting was chaired by the State Party Chairman, Bello Adamu Safana.
The meeting comes at a time when political activities are gaining momentum across Nigeria, with some opposition groups forming alliances and defecting to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a bid to challenge the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Hausa Daily Post indicate that the meeting was attended by key party stakeholders, including the Deputy State Chairman of the SDP, Dr. Magaji Dansarai, the State Secretary, Mustapha Muhammed Kurfi, zonal chairmen from Daura, Funtua, and Katsina zones, as well as local government party chairmen and their secretaries.
The SDP stated that the meeting is part of efforts to reposition the party and boost members’ morale, while laying out a clear roadmap toward success in the forthcoming elections. The party emphasized the need for unity and commitment among all members to achieve this goal.
